Dear Symantec,
Norton reported that I had viruses in emails in my thunderbird inbox and trash. I allowed Norton to fix whatever problem it found, and it deleted my entire Inbox and Trash! I suppose it's nice that Norton AV can scan my emails for viruses, but this method of fixing them is unacceptable.
I restored my trash and Inbox from Norton AV's history, found the emails with the viruses manually, and deleted them.
Until Norton AV can properly handle deleting attachements from Thunderbird emails, I suggest it asks the user to delete the offending emails manually or something else, because deleting a lifetime's worth of correspondence is really unacceptable.
Sincerely,
Jeff
PS Thunderbird is version 2.0.0.23 and Norton AV is version 17.0.0.136.
