Norton Antivirus Error Code 3047.53 Definitions Error

Hi, I have antivirus 2011, and have downloaded it onto a laptop. Just recently I have been going mad with the amount of error messges I am getting on the laptop, not the desktop! The recent message is a definition error, and for the life of me, I can't seem to get my system "not at risk".

Can anyone explain in the simplist of terms please, how I can sort this problem out. I hae gone through all the suggestions given by the "robotic" web site for explaanations into problems, and have also uninstalled and re-installed, and am still getting different error messages.

This is sending me crazy. I need help please.

Many thanks,

Carol

carol,

To get you the best advice, would you give us some more information about your system:

What version of Windows are you using including Service Packs and whether 32 bit or 64 bit as well as the Name and Version ID of the Norton product that you are using -- Help or Support / About is where that is, in the format of nn.nn.nn.nnn

If you have the COMCAST version of Norton 360 / Security Suite and not the normal commercial version please be sure to tell us.

Do you have a 1 PC or a 3 PC version of the Norton program?

If you get any error messages please give the exact wording of them as well as any other background that could be helpful.

Please also say what internet browser you are using -- name and version number ...

Could you explain what you mean by "downloaded it onto the laptop" -- where did you download it from and did it install automatically and then ask you to activate it? Did you activate it by entering the KEY for the PC version?

We need to know exactly what the error messages say especially if they contain any error code numbers or other pointers to what the error is in terms that we can search about.

High Kicks --

Although it is not absolutely clear I don't think the user has Norton 360 that you refer to .....

Let's see what facts we can get first.
