Norton AntiVirus Installation

I currently have Norton Internet Security installed. My license is near renewal time and I would like to install Norton AntiVirus that I have purchased. Do I need to completely uninstall internet security before installing antivirus?

Note that in your message you say Norton AntiVirus in the Subject and refer to Norton Internet Security in the message and then to buying Norton AntiVirus. Is this a mistake or do you have the two different products? If you do then you do have to remove and reinstall for safety.

So please clarify this.

If it's a mistake and you have bought what you had before, all you need to do is to use the link on the main screen of your Norton to Renew / Subscribe and there should be a box to Enter Existing Key where you can type in the KEY that came with the copy you purchased.

But wait until a couple of days before your subscription is due to expire because entering a new KEY is equivalent to installing a different product and you lose any unexpired days subscription. That's the difference with a RENEW on line with Norton.

If you do have different products please let us know and we can give you a way to get an installation file that is more uptodate than on the disk you bought Norton ANtiVIrus on since they are not updated.

Hello 1hobbs66

Welcome to the Norton Community Forum

Assuming that this thread is correct, I would recommend that you uninstall NIS before installing NAV. I would use the control panel method with a reboot after. You want to make sure to get rid of the firewall since NAV doesn't have one. We can give you a more up to date link as Hugh mentioned.
