I have been using "Norton Antivirus Online", which is the version provided by Qwest (also Comcast, I believe). It seems to be some sort of hybrid of other Norton products, and I'm having trouble figuring out exactly what it has incorporated.
Does it have a firewall? There is a reference to "Intrusion Prevention" - is that it? There does not seem to be much in the way of user-specified options, for example to allow certain programs.
I think, QQ Doctor provides the Antivirus part from Symantec for protection and their own proprietary software for performance maintenance of the computer. The subscription may be similar to the online versions provided by the Internet service providers. Not sure about the problem though, as the user has posted only a portion of error/warning message, and not the complete message. It may be a warning from Email Scan when it detected some malicious email or when the email scan component encountered a problem. My suggestion is to start from checking the options in the UI, whether any features from NAV is disabled, then run LiveUpdate and full system scan. If the problem persists, ask the user to provide the screenshot of the whole window which displays the message.
QQ doctor is software. Hopefully you have a relationship with Tencent the writers. It is on that basis that I am hoping that yourselves can resolve the issues between QQ and NIS 2010. But in this matter can I ask please that you respond in the thread directly.
The Norton Antivirus does NOT a firewall but both Norton Internet Security and Norton 360 do.
Do you know which one you downloaded and installed? What is identified on your main Norton window? It should say there. Also what is the exact version from Help > About?
If you currently have Norton Antivirus and would prefer either Norton Internet Security or Norton 360, then you will need to uninstall your current Norton Antivirus software via the Control panel.
Then download the removal tool referenced at the following location.
I have Norton AnitiVirus Online, version 18.1.0.37. So, it does not have a firewall, correct?
If that's true, I guess I just need to decide if I think the Windows firewall is adequate for me. I'm connected directly to a DSL modem (no router), so I don't think I have a hardware firewall.
