Hi! I am having the worst time getting Norton to open on my computer, and after some searching in the Security Center, I realized that it has been switched to the 'off' status. If I try to turn it on, it will configure for a second and then it won't change--its status is still 'off.' It isn't expired, so what could it possibly be? In addition, my internet is working just fine, but I cannot navigate to any website. It simply says "unable to connect." Any help is greatly appreciated!
Hi mackey,
Do you have any other security software, such as Microsoft Security Essentials, installed?
Also, click on the main Norton window, click Support > Subscription Status and let the Subscription Status Check run. This will correct any problem with your installed program mistakenly thinking that it has expired.
You should also check to see your system date and time are correct.
Also you can try clicking on Support - Get Support to run Autofix to check your installation and fix what it finds..
Hey, guys! Thanks for your help, but I cannot get Norton to do anything. It won't open the homepage, and right clicking and choosing other options that way doesn't work either. Any other suggestions?
Go back to SendOfJive's question about any other security software installed.
That could cause all kinds of conflicts with the Norton software.
