Norton antivirus

My computer was damaged beyond repair and I replaced it. However I had several months of my subscription to AV remaining. How can I get it on my new computer. I downloaded sytemworks from the original cd and was told that I had my AV but cannot find it. I am advised that it has expired.

HI hiho:

Welcome to the Norton forum.

If you're referring to the Norton SystemWorks Standard or Premier (i.e., not SystemWorks Basic) that came bundled with Norton AntiVirus and Norton Utilities, this product was discontinued in 2009 - see rghmktg's thread here titled Can't Renew Norton SystemWorks.

If you contact Norton Customer Support - most users find the LiveChat option here usually provides the fastest response - they should be able to provide instructions to get you up and running again.  They might have to give you a new product activation key that will work with the lastest NAV 2012 (available for download here) but Customer Support will let you know what's required.  They might even be able to provide an upgrade for Norton Utilities at the same time.

Hello hiho

If Customer Support can help you recover the unused portion of your System Works, you should really consider updating to a 2012 product like NIS 2012 or NAV 2012.. Most new computers come today with a trial version of some security program. If yours did, and you get a Norton product which is different than the trial version on your new computer, that trial version will have to be removed using the control panel method and rebooting and then the use of the rermoval tool from the other company. Please don't do this before getting things squared away with customer support. Thanks.

From the main Norton screen click on Advanced-->History.  From the "Show" dropdown box, select Scan Results.  In the left pane, click once to select the scan you want to look at and then click on More Details in the right pane.  From there you can select other specific details to view.

Welcome to the forum. :smileyhappy:

I have tried to access a website which requires a "security answer" and always get "security failed".

This happens only on one PC.

However I could access the site on my second computer which has no Norton.

I imagine this is a problem with Norton antivirus.

Can anybody help me?

Tks
