Norton App Lock randomly and unsolicitedly adds WhatsApp to the app block list.

Hello @Giancarlo_Mammarella
Welcome to the Norton Community!

Norton App Lock has been discontinued and support ended on June 11, 2024 , which likely contributes to erratic behavior such as automatically re-enabling locks on unselected apps like WhatsApp . Users previously reported that the app would randomly re-check WhatsApp in the locked apps list, often after updates, despite being manually removed.

Since the product is no longer supported, you may encounter bugs where the app behaves unsolicitedly. To resolve this:

• Uninstall Norton App Lock completely, as it is no longer maintained.
• Use WhatsApp’s internal lock feature (Settings > Privacy > App Lock) to secure the application.
• For general app security, rely on your device’s native biometric or PIN lock screens.
