hello everyone,
I have a new HP laptop and Norton's Internet Security 2009, and my auto protect says it's off and to fix it. I do the required steps to fix it and it says it's not fixed. It's on now but randomly it's off at other times. I did an online virus scan through through Kaspersky labs yet it said I didn't have any viruses. Same with my email protection, in and out. I'm not sure exactly why it's doing that and what to do to fix it. Can anyone help me out please?? Why is my auto protect on sometimes and it tells me to fix it and other times it's not? When I bring up the menu, it's on now but the little message is telling me I still have to fix it.
Thanks for any of your help!!
It won't let me access the history. It' comes up for 2 seconds and it disappears. I ran a virus scan in safe mode yesterday and nothing came up. And no, I have not tried to uninstall the product. I'm concerned if I uninstall it, it will leave me unprotected until I reinstall it. Any more advice would be great?
You can follow the below steps to uninstall/reinstall which won't leave you unprotected.
1. Download the latest version of Norton Internet Security 2009 from this LINK, don't install it now.
2. Download and run Norton Removal Tool from this LINK.
3. Disconnect from the Internet and run the removal tool 2-3 times in order to make sure that all the components from previous installation has been removed completely.
4. Restart the computer, reconnect back to the Internet and start installing Norton 2009. The installation won't take more than 1 minute and so there is very less chance for your computer under the unprotected status.
