Hi all,
I've been a loyal customer of Norton IS products since I purchased my first PC in 2000. I am currently suscribed to NIS and for about the last 2 months Norton Autofix constantly pops up to 'diagnose and fix an error' it has detected.
After running for a few minutes it claims that it is unable to fix the error. It then leads me to the Norton website and wants me to download and install software. Today's error is 'Error 3048, 3'
This has never happened before in the 12 years I've been a NIS customer and, TBH I am getting sick and tired of it - when i purchase an IS product (as opposed to downloading free IS software) I expect it to do the job without asking me to download software once a week.
I went along with the instructions the first time when i was asked to uninstall and re-install NIS, which took ages and cost me money because I use a dongle for my internet connection.
Why is this happening and how can I make it stop - these constant errors that Norton detects but is unable to fix is making me lose faith in a product that I really, really believed in. At this point I am ready to change IS providers; I do not see why I should pay for a product that does not seem to be doing the job the way it should.
Rant over; I'd appreciate any advice on what is wrong with the current version of NIS.
Thanks
Jenn
