The icon to access the Norton Backup Drive keeps appearing and disappearing from the Computer view in Windows Explorer. If I time it correctly, I can double click on the icon (before it disappears) and I briefly get to see the contents of the Backup Drive before Explorer closes/crashes on me.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate and I'm running 360 v3.5.2.11.
As part of my trouble shooting I have successfully changed the 'Where' location in the backup settings to a network drive but I still get the same behaviour.
Just to clarify, the “Norton Backup Drive” (http://imgur.com/3Sc2g.png) flashes? as in appears, and disappears?
A few questions:
1. At what interval does it disappear, and reappear? (Disappears and reappears once per second? per minute?)
2. About how long after getting into the backup drive does explorer crash?
3. Is any part of the Norton interface open?
4. What exactly is the crash message? (ie: Explorer.exe has encountered and error and must be closed)
5. You said you have windows 7… now might be an awesome opportunity to attempt the new PSR tool.
Please click start menu, then type “psr.exe” and hit enter, then follow the flow to record the steps to recreate the problem. (Close all other programs, click the record button, and walk through recreating the problem.)
