Since a Norton update this morning, I'm unable to backup to an external drive. When I try, it comes up with an internal error message. It previously worked fine. It's not the drive because I'm able to scan it and it shows that it's connected so something in this update has caused an issue. Anyone else have this and what is the solution?
Have you checked that your external drive is still mapped to a drive letter in Windows Explorer, and that that drive letter is still showing as the destination drive in the backup settings?
Hi Peter, thanks for that but I'd already tried those things before posting, it's just not playing ball.
Have you restarted your computer since the Norton update? Be sure you are using the Restart command. Not Shutdown and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled. If you use Windows 8/8.1, 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here.
And manually running LiveUpdate again might also help.
