I have been a Norton user for several years, but recently had to update the current version. Now when I try to access several blogs, they are blocked and I get the following message:
Accessing web site: ancientegyptiancobras.blogspot.com is prohibited at this time
URL: ancientegyptiancobras.blogspot.com/2012/03/in-spotlight.html
This URL, ancientegyptiancobras.blogspot.com, is a known malware location and violates company policy.

If I click the link which says 'If you think this detection was in error, please click here' It just says 'Your IT department has been notified', but nothing actually changes and I still can't access the site. I know these sites are safe because I've been accessing them for years and several are written by friends. There is no evidence of any redirection that I can see, and it also seems unlikely that so many of the blogs I visit would be redirected by malicious users at the same time. I have tried accessing these sites from google, from twitter links and from Netvibes as well as using the IE address bar, but nothing works. The problem only seems to affect blogs (so far) but it is extremely irritating that I don't have the option to tell norton to proceed to the site anyway, or to advise it to trust that site.
Is there a fix or a work around for this or can I tell Norton to trust these sites. I woudl prefer to avoid turning off aspects of the Norton system, as in my experience it works well otherwise.
Thank you
Hannah
