Norton Bootable Recovery Tool for Norton Internet Security 2010

I would like to do a pre-install scan on two PC's before I intsall NIS 2010.

On one PC, that has, previously, had NIS 2010 installed on it, if I boot to the Norton Bootable Recovery Tool, it works OK and appears to scan at least one of the HDDs.

However, on the 2nd PC, which hasn't yet had NIS 2010 installed on it, I get as far as entering the CD-Key, then the screen goes black and the PC reboots.

Can the Norton Bootable Recovery Tool for Norton Internet Security 2010 only be used on a system that's already had NIS on it?

Or, in other words, is this the intended behaviour?

If not, will the NBRT handle SATA-150 drives/controllers (eg, the type where you have to have drivers on a floppy for windows to install correctly)?

(Aside from a very minor difference in the graphics cards) the only difference between the PCs is the HDDs - the first PC has 2 HDDs - one SATA-150, one IDE - the second PC has only 1 HDD - a SATA-I.

So, is the NBRT just scanning the IDE HDD on the first PC, and rebooting on the second PC because it can't see any HDDs at all, or something like that?

Can I point the NRBT at the relevant drivers somehow?
