Hi,
Could you please also check to make sure that your USB is not configured to be read only ?
Thanks
AK
I have the same error. OS is Windows Mediacenter. The USB has no check box for read only that I can find. Power eraser gives the same error message. The other scanner finds boot.tidserv but can't remove it? I am about to reformat unless you can give me other options. Thank you for your help.
OS - MS WINXP PRO 5.1.2600 SP3
The Norton Bootable Recovery Tool Scan finds nothing.
Which file on my USB should I check for read-only?
When first reinstalled NIS 19.5.1.2 works fine, I can display settings, history and run scans; however shortly thereafter
all these functions are gone. I followed the instructions Atomic_Blast gave to NYRColter 'NIS won't run?' with the result given above. I suspect a deep virus and would like to run NPE. TIA.
Hi samuelsholbrook,
We would require logs generated by NPE to analyze the issue that you are facing. I've sent you a private message regarding the same. Kindly respond to that.
Thanks in advance!
Problem with NIS 19.5.1.2. fixed. Will check Bootable NPE next.

Welcome,
If you click on the logo in the lower left corner then on computer then right click on the USB drive and select properties then the security tab - there should be a list of user names and for each the list of permissions allowed. You can change the permissions or you can change users. Runniing as the administrator usually reduces problems to a minimum.
Hope this helps
