I have downloaded and installed the Norton Bootable Recovery Tool. I then used the program to create a bootable USB. When I boot from the USB the Norton Bootable REcovery Tool boots up, but will not accept my NIS 2011 product key. The key appears to be too long. What am I doing wrong?
Just curious, do you by chance have a dual or multi-boot computer? The NBRT will normally search the hard drive for a valid installation of Norton and retrieve the product key on its own but the last I heard this does not work for dual or multi-boot scenarios, requiring you to fill it in by hand.
I guess that the problem lays in the fact that I was using the NBRT to trouble shoot a friends notebook and not my own PC. So just to clarify..... the NBRT tool will only work with PC's that have Norton installed? It seems like a no brainer now and I feel a bit foolish for assuming it would work a non Norton PC.
