Norton charges subscription against out of date billing card

Hi.  Norton 360 premium user. Have been getting " Update your payment method to your keep subscription active" messages. Decided to not update card details and just let subscription run out. Billing information currently shows the card used has  expired on 04 /23. But on 2/4/2024 somehow Norton was able to bill me for new subscription on the out of date card. How is that legally possible. Trying to get through to a person to get this refunded is all but impossible. Just get in run around death loops in menu banks, calls that never happen and useless chat bots. Have all the receipts ( screenshots ) of relevant information.
