Hello,
I'm running Windows XP Professional with SP3. Until last week I was using Norton Internet Security (NIS) 2008 and also Norton SystemWorks Premier (NSWP) 2008. On 09/25/2009 I upgraded both programs to their 2009 version. Thus I downloaded from the Update Center NIS 2009 (v.16.7.2.11) and NSWP (v.12.0.1). Especially NIS 2009 is really great! Much less resource consuming than NIS 2008. However, I have some troubles with the latest NSWP.
I always prefer to start my notebook in a clean state, therefore I schedule a task for the Norton Express Cleanup program in order to make it run at startup. I did this when I was using NSWP in 2007 and also with NSWP 2008. I didn't encounter any problem and the task was working fine each time my computer started. However, since I'm using NSWP v.12, the cleanup task I scheduled cannot run when the system starts. I receive a Norton Cleanup Error message notifying : "Terminal Services is not started in the machine. Please start the service manually to run Cleanup". I have tried to fix this for three days. I searched for a solution in the internet, read plenty of articles about Terminal Services, attempted some fixes, looked for advice in some forums, I even uninstalled and reinstalled the software yesterday, but no way, I still get this notification at each startup. One of my colleagues also owns NSWP v.12, but his OS is Vista Home Premium. I asked him to schedule an Express Cleanup task to run at logon, and it worked perfectly in his machine. I really don't understand what the reason is, and what causes the program not to run. Is there any way to overcome this issue?
I'm looking forward for your valuable recommendations.
