I have Norton Comcast and I use the identity safe a lot for surfing and account logins. It's great! I have downloaded the iphone mobile app, created an norton online account and created and on-line vault. But I'm stumped! How do I sync or upload all my saved logins from my pc (windows 7, 64 bit) to my norton online identity safe vault? Help!

Thanks for the clarification about no support for the online vault in NSS. I kinda suspected that was so. I'm very used to exporting the vault to a file and then using that to update by laptop copy. If any other reader or Norton rep has any ideas how that might work to export to the iphone mobile version I would certainly appreciate it.
I'll ask this thread be moved to the Other Mobile Products board where you will find more mobile users that can better advise you.
I have checked my iPad version and was unable to find an import function.
Thanks. I hope there is some way for Comcast Norton users to export the vault to the mobile Norton app. If there isn't a way to do so now, could this be a feature request?

Hi,
That sounds like a suggestion that needs to be on the Comcast forum. They control what happens to their version.
Keep us posted
Perhaps....but doesn't Norton control what happens on Norton mobile app?
If so, couldn't Norton's mobile account have an import the vault file feature through the cloud site, and if so, wouldn't that be up to Norton?
Setting the feature request aside, my first question is whether there is any workaround so that I can export my NSS identity safe vault and use it on the Norton mobile app. Any thoughts?
Hi surfer100,
I agree - Comcast can not change any of the Norton Program - they can't even get most of their own security programs to operate at a high efficiency - it would be a Norton Mobile function. Did you see my suggestions above?
Since NSS does not provide an online vault - I would think in your case, you may be able to use the Export function of NSS's ID Safe, exporting the data to a location that you can access with your iphone and then Import the data into your Online Vault.
I do not know how info is added to an iphone but I do know I have ID Safe on my ipad.
I don't see how to import a vault data file (either as a dat or csv file) into the online portal or directly into the mobile app. Are you able to that with your ipad norton mobile app?
FWIIW, I have posted a feature request to a Comcast forum for syncing with Norton's mobile identity safe app. Hope it helps.
Probably Comcast and Norton would actually have to work together to make it happen.

From past experience - don’t hold your breath!
There does not seem to be any way to import a backup into the mobile app, or using the online access to an online vault.
A possible work around would be to download and try to install the standalone version of Identity Safe from www.indentitysafe.norton.com . Set up an online vault using the same username and passwords as you have used on your iPhone. Then using the new Identity Safe on your browser's toolbar, you should be able to import the data you backed up previously. If this works, you should be able to
NOTE: I have not tried installing the standalone version alongside a working NSS or NIS. It may not be possible.
Thank you for the suggestion. I turned off the norton toolbar, then the download worked. However, a pop up box came up that says you already have Norton idenitity safe, and here's how to turn it on. Which is the identity safe that's part of the Comcast NSS package. Oh well... I guess the only way I'll be able to use the identity safe mobile app is if Comcast and Norton decide to cooperate to make it possible.
Hi surfer100,
If you have any Norton product installed on your system (including the offerings from your ISP) you can not install the Stand Alone ID safe.
Something I have not tried and am not sure if it is possible, would be to uninstall Norton Security Suite, install the stand alone and then try to move the log-ins to your iphone from your Stand Alone online vault as peterweb suggested. Just make sure you have exports of your log-ins in a safe location.
Once (if) you try that please let us know how things go and then you will be able to reinstall NSS from this link . Please note you will have to close the popup for Constant Guard Protecion suite or scroll down a bit and clickon the No Thanks for CGPS in order to see the Get It Now button which will begind yutr NSS download.
@yank. I think your plan might work...but it would have to be redone each time you wanted to 'sync' locations. I'm pretty persistent in solving problems...but I think at this point I'll give it a rest and hope that the coders at Comcast and Norton will find a solution.
Thanks for trying.
Greetings,
The vault is tied to the users Norton Account which Comcast does not (will not) utilize.
We are investigating other alternatives as we know this is an issue, but at this time I can't comment on the length of time this process will take.

@rdleo Thanks so much for the reply and clarification. One alternative you might wish to investigate is manual uploading a dat or csv file of the identity safe vault to the Norton account. Similarly, you could offer manual downloading of the cloud vault. This way a Comcast Norton user could manually keep both sides up to date. Hope your engineers will consider this possibility.

Rhonda,
Thanks for your interest and your reply. I have been complaining to anyone (apparently not the right folks at Norton) who will listen for the last few years. I understand a bit more now with your dioes not (will not) utilize comment in regards to Comcast and Norton Account.
Let me assure you that there are many Comcast users that are upset over this and I have called us the "red-headed step child" in the past - in that we can not do what other Norton users can do. It is not only the use of an online vault with mobuile devices synced to our ID Safe Local Vault, but also the much delayed updates and upgrades that we see all the time.
Once again thanks for your interest and we I will wait patiently for alternatives. BTW, have you considered the use of the Stand Alone ID Safe being made useable with Norton Security Suite?
Got a response from Comcast on their forum. See below.
How can I route this feature request to Norton's Comcast xFinity Product Management team?
Thanks.

It would actually be back through Norton to the product management, there, which deals directly with the Comcast xFinity Product Management for their product (Norton Security Suite).
Yes, I am aware of that response and it sounds like the same double dutch answer I usually get from Comcast.
OK - I'll own up. I volunteer on the Comcast Forum also. I go by USAF_E-8_RET over there and I have had absolutely no luck with getting anyone on the Comcast Security Team to co-operate answering questions.
Bear in mind CGPS-Support works with the CGPS team - not the Comcast Security Team.
