Norton Comcast, Identity Safe, and Online Vault Sync?

@yank.  I've seen many of your informative posts over at Comcast.  Perhaps if we both keep persistently raising the issue someone on either (or both) side(s) will try to come up with a solution.

The thing is I really find identity safe to be useful and wish it could either sync with or be exported into Norton's iphone version manually.

Hi surfer100,

I hear you and I have been complaining to Norton about the shortfalls of the ID Safe function (no online/mobile capability) for quite awhile.  There is virtually no one at Comcast to complain to - even the Admin of the Comcast Forum can not get an answer from the Comcast Security Team -who supposedly handles the security products on Comcast.

Basically all we can do is suggest and hope someone takes action.

Hi Surfer 100,
I believe that the better option would be to export and take a backup of iddata as a dat file on your pc. Remove NSS completely. Install the identity safe standalone toolbar and sync the dat file and import all the logins by logging into the Norton account. Once you are able to login to Norton account, you can reinstall NSS back to the computer. This should hopefully allow you to use NSS as well as the standalone toolbar for your identity safe. Which in turn can be used on your mobile phones

Thanks for your response.

I use an iphone and ipad, and I think the stand alone version does not run apple products.  So, unless that has changed, it wouldn't work for me.

I currently have a hybrid system.  I've been using ewallet for many many years and it sinks between windows and apple systems. It is my primary username/password database and refernece.

For convenience in day to day browsing,  I also use the Norton Identity safe built into the Comcast Norton suite...and also for convenience I use the iphone cloud synced browser password saver.

Sort of a kluge, but seems to work for the moment.

The stand alone version for Mobile is available on iTunes and Google Play.

At this time you cannot import your vault to the Portal, although internally it has been discussed.

Unfortunately the only option would be to back up the data, uninstall NSS and use NIS or N360.

One other suggestion:

You can export the data in .dat format from comcast layout and install IDSS on a new machine, create NA, vault and import the .dat created in other machine.  This will get the vault in the cloud.

Then install IDSafe for iOS from iTunes.  Use the Norton Account you used on the new machine, same vault password and it will grab the vault.  That vault won't stay in sync with the other machine, but at least you don't have to start over.

Just a thought.
