Crypto has been stuck on "paying out" for 24 hours. Meanwhile, the program seems to be mining and not giving me any credit for it. My experience with Norton Crypto so far has been terrible. The payouts don't nearly reflect the amount of mining being done using my computer's resources. Problems are not addressed. Does anyone from Norton monitor these forums and respond? These problems, along with the constant fan noise while mining and the likely wear and tear on my computer, make this service not worth it.
If the fan noise is bothersome, download MSI Afterburner. You can adjust the Core and Memory Clock MHz, the Power Limit, and the Temp Limit to reduce the fan speed. I'm running a GTX 1660 with Power at 70%, Temp Limit at 65 deg, Core clock -202, and Memory Clock at +0. Drop of 1 MHz in mining but the fan drops to 69% and the card is cooler (67-69 deg). Without the changes, card runs too hot (79 deg), fan runs 95%. Not worth risking premature card failure for 1 MHz hashing.
I posted in the wrong topic…sorry
I applied a liveupdate within the Norton app this morning and this issue was resolved for me (Nov 2). The update also provides a new interface for the mining app.
See my attached...well past .004 for the pay out but it's not paying out...it is increasing tho...
Good to know, thanks. Hoping the new release comes soon.
there appears to be some issues with some configurations where the miner gets stuck, we are working on a release which would catch this issue and restart the miner, as for paying out, we wait until gas prices are low enough, gas prices are ethereum network related and are not paid to Norton - Ethereum Gas Price Charts & Historical Gas Fees – ethereumprice
Thank you for replying! My GPU is a GeForce GTX 1660Ti. I've been running Crypto for a few months. It will work for stretches but at other times gets stuck on "calculating hash rate" or, in this case, "paying out." In both cases, the software is clearly using my computer to mine because the GPU fan whirs (which it almost never does if I'm not mining) but I'm not getting credit for it. This has happened for days at a time. I've just restarted the miner and it's back to mining with a hash rate of 20.7. However, it still says "paying out" and it's been stuck there for a day without actually paying out.
can you tell us the GPU you are running
if the hashrate is saying calculating or waiting for idle it is not mining
we have addressed many problems some coming directly from this forum
yes several of us monitor the forums and other channels like support as well and we do respond
the fan noise is something we cannot solve, the usage of your GPU at very high rates will cause the fans to run to keep the card cool
