Dear Norton People
I have recently installed Norton DNS onto my PC, running WinXP Pro SP3, NIS2010 and NU14, and have found that of all the Norton products I use Norton DNS seems to be the most aggressive, it just blocks websites that it does not recognise or deemed to be malicious.
Therein lays the problem, in order to check the configuration and status of my modem router, the Speedtouch 585 (v6), I have to use its URL which is unknown to Norton DNS and is therefore blocked. The only way I can access my Speedtouch 585 (v6) is by turning of, i.e. disabling, Norton DNS.
I guess from this that any computer equipment which can be configured via a URL or IP address would be similarly blocked by Norton DNS.
Therefore, Norton DNS should have a whitelist so that users like myself who have equipment that require URL access can enter those URLs in a list that will be ignored.
