“I will cancel the automatic renewal service of your subscription than your subscription will not be renew automatically for next year and you will also not get charged at the standard price and you can contact us before the expiration so that we can help you to renew your subscription at the discounted price.” The discounted price was confirmed via the same chat and i will not post it here.
The question to support: Will Norton honor the promise? Yes or No?
The response: The best we can do is offer you based on the current offers because the offer i was promised is no longer available.
Side note: my bank contacted me asking if i attempted a very large transaction and upon further investigation i found out it was Norton attempting to renew using my card details….Yh the same auto renewal that was canceled.
My subscription expires in May and i have been with norton for 10+ years and this year might just be my last.
Norton Community users urge Users that do not want automatic renewal to Unsubscribe and Delete their billing profile ~65+ days ahead…far enough ahead to avoid being billed. Users may shop $ at reputable retail/online vendors.

When you stop your subscription from automatically renewing:
Your subscription will continue through the end of your already paid subscription term, after which it will end and not automatically renew.
It typically takes a few hours from your request for the change to take effect. Norton Extras may end when you stop your subscription from automatically renewing.
I created a new post outlining my issues and that was first deleted and then added to this post
Additionally, I contacted support today and requested to speak with a manager and asked the question:
Will norton honor the promise made it 2022/23?
The manager’s exact words:
”I can’t help you with $xx.xx, I will follow our current policies only. Anything else in which I can help you?”
So Norton’s official position is: we will not honor written promise made by our own support team, because today’s policy overrides yesterday’s commitment.
What I am demanding
1. Honor the $xx.xx promised price for my future renewals. You have my 2022/23 support records.
2. Explain how auto-renewal was reactivated after I was told it was off, and ensure it does not happen again without my explicit consent.
3. Review the conduct of this forum moderator – their sarcastic, biased response is unacceptable for an official Norton channel.
I am willing to share all chat logs, email notifications, and bank alerts with any Norton employee who will actually review this case rather than hiding behind “current policies.”
If this post is ignored, deleted, or met with another canned response, I will file complaints with:
· The Better Business Bureau (BBB)
· The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) – for deceptive business practices (promised price not honored, unauthorized renewal)
· My state Attorney General’s consumer protection division
I will also post this experience – including the moderator’s quote – on social media, consumer review sites, and tech forums.
Norton made a promise in 2022/23. A promise is not “current policy” – it is a commitment. Your customers expect you to keep it.
