Norton doesn't always start up

Norton doesn't always start up when I start my computer. Most of the time it starts up and runs properly in the background but sometimes it just doesn't start. I am then unable to get it to start - the only solution at that stage when I notice that it isn't running is to re-boot the computer. And then it is usually fine. There are no error messages or sign that there is a problem - I just notice that the icon isn't there and it isn't running. And it isn't possible to get it to run.

I am running a clean install of Windows 10 64bit following a motherboard/processor/disk/memory upgrade. As far as I am aware it is the current version of Norton internet security (I can't find the version number anywhere but the diagnostic tool tells me that it is the latest version). Any ideas? Thanks.
