Norton Doesn't scan

Everytime I try to quick scan nothing happens and when I do full scan, it only does the update and the scan fails.

I am on windows 8. I have got norton 360, it used to scan before but it doesn't anymore. I have tried to scan every way when i click on the fix me button it just fails.

You still haven't mentioned which version of Norton 360.

 

If you are using the latest version, v20.2.1.22 I would recommend exporting your ID safe data in both DAT and CSV formats to somewhere you can find them (If you use that feature).

 

Please tell us if you are using N360v6 or another version.  Please also tell us if it is the free version supplied by your internet provider.

 

Have your Product Key handy.

 

Instructions to replace N360v20

 

  1. Download the Norton Removal Tool and save it.
  2. Download a fresh copy of N360v20 from Standard Edition or Premium Edition and save it.
  3. Uninstall your copy of N360 from Windows Control Panel.
  4. Restart your computer.
  5. Right click on the Norton Removal Tool and select Run as administrator.
  6. Restart your computer
  7. Right click the fresh copy of Norton 360 and select Run as administrator.
  8. Run Live Update, restarting where required, until no more updates are available and restart once more.
  9. Import your ID Safe data.
