I downloaded and am trying to install Norton 360 on my notebook with windows 7. I get an error message from Norton Download Manager that reads "The download manager requires administrative privileges to download and install the product". It's my home computer and I'm logged in as administrator. I have already downloaded the Symantec product removal and run it on my computer, but I still get the error message. How do I solve this problem? Thanks!
Hi lrrinaldi,
From your post I assume that the download itself is not started, so, I am sure that you would not the have the setup in your machine to trigger the install.
In some case Norton Download Manager expects the UAC to be enabled.. Could you please enable the "User Account Control" and try running the download manager again
Steps to enable User Account Control in win7:
1. Click start
2. In the "Search programs and files" field, type "change user account control settings"
3. Click on the " change user account control settings " program
4. Set the slide bar to the highest level on Always Notify.
5. Press Ok.
6. Restart your machine
7. Run Norton Download Manager.
Hope it should work now.
