I’m getting the same error message from Norton Driver Updater. It reads:
This feels like the stone age (in large bold letters) Below it reads:

I’ve just downloaded (9/17/25) and it is a fresh install, so whatever the current version 25.1 (build 6041) This is a fully updated, Win10 home Dell computer. The internet connection is fine (witness I’m able to reach this forum.) I’ve installed and run Driver Updater successfully on two other machines.
I’ve restarted the machine twice, restarted the router/modem…and continue to get the same error. Help w/b very much appreciated.
Update: For those running into the same problem: I tried again, restarted with the program still up.
When the computer finished booting, the program returned and requested me to sign in. Once signed in, the loading circle spun a bit, then gave me:
Server Error

Try again later.

I’ll try again later. One hopes the second message is more accurate than the first. (I really don’t like being told it can’t get to the internet when everything else can and my security is Norton, and Norton doesn’t say it’s blocking the Updater.)
Aaaaaand…another update. Even as I was posting the first update, the error message shifted to the normal login to activate screen. I logged in, it activated, and the program proceeded to do it’s thing. So…the Stone Age was on Norton’s side, not mine and likely not the original poster’s. I hope all who have this problem try again.
I’ve used Norton protection for years. There was a time it saved me from my own lazy backup routines. It’s no longer the program it once was (Utilities was dynamite for setting up new computers…back when you HAD to install sound/video/nik cards and salvaging lost files…even when a drive head was improperly parked…NOT BY ME!!!
) I’ve never used DU, buyt I had a computer that was giving me ghosty problems and windows Device Manager couldn’t find any drivers out of date. Norton Updater, I let it do its thing, and at least some of the problems disappeared, so it can’t be all bad.
I do rather wish that folks who diss the program the posters are obviously using would at least have the courtesy to enlighten us with their greater wisdom and suggest how they manage their driver problem. Just sayin’.
Good luck to all who have this same problem.
