Norton Email Error Pop-ups Won't Stop

Hi,

 

So I've been encountering a problem since I started my laptop today. I keep on getting Email Error pop-ups from Norton, saying that 'my email message' was unable to be sent. But here's the problem- I didn't send an email message.

 

It appears to me that spam bot emails are sending out hundreds of emails (to people I do not know and are not on my contact list). But my email is not being used, the spam bot emails themselves are doing this. What I want to know is why is my IP address being used to do this (if this is even the problem?) 

 

I did not get only one email error, but around 4 different email errors. Here are the image links:

As you can see in the screenshots, it says 'Your email message,' but the problem is that I'm not sending these email messages... What could the problem be?

 

These were the 3 different errors I encountered. I blurred out the emails that were having the spam sent to. All of the emails were yahoo emails.

 

Also, the sender (which in these pictures is seen as online_pharmacy@yahoo.com) was not the only one. I also remember pharmacyshop@yahoo.com being a sender in one of these emails, as well as several others.

 

Note: I do not own any of these emails.

 

I just want to know why I am being notified of emails I am not sending... I assumed it was because the senders were using my IP address, and if so, I want to know how I can solve this problem.

 

I am also running MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, and so far I've encountered 2 objects that have been detected to be harmful. I will give you an update on this when the scan is complete.

 

I also have Norton Security Suite, but have not started a full-system virus scan yet.

 

I don't know if it helps, but I haven't been to any harmful websites lately that could have contributed to the problem.

 

I have researched the issue for around 3 hours at Yahoo!, Google, etc., with no solution. Any help is REALLY appreciated.

for me it's time to say goodbye to this windows installation ...

 

do you use online banking from this pc?

What do you mean it's compromised, how so?

 

And no I do not do online banking of any sort on this computer.

hahahaha everyone that has been infected or is infected say goodbye to your windows,    Don'r think so, otherwise my windows should have been "say goodbye' many many times per year. yet it is not.

 

The user that stated this does not know what they are doing with malware to give that comments like that, and should not then deal with infections.

 

Please go to a malware removal forum that is protected from users giving comments like that.

compromized means, that this Trojan.Downloader could have downloaded more malware, which spys out your personal data.

 

If it was my pc -> format c:\

DON"T REFORMAT,  (I woud like a system to turn up after a user is told to reformat, and the infection survived what the user was told to do.)

 

Please go to the malware removal sites that have people like myself that,  actually remove infections from systems  even the harder ones, and users cannot give stupid suggestions.

 

 If that is all you are infected with that is easy, if you have the likes of zeroaccess or Pihar behind, it can still be removed by malware removal teams even if they would or do survive reformats.

 

mp3jo is not in the malware removal area.

I'd like to thank both of you for replying to my thread. I did notice the trojan thing that Jo pointed out, and I've also signed up on http://bleepingcomputer.com and asked them for help as well.

 

Now I am awaiting a response.

 

And also, I've restarted my PC and deleted all 12 of those trojan files caught by the MalwareBytes Anti-Malware scan, and after this, the Email Error Pop-Ups stopped coming out of nowhere. But because of Jo's post, I am now continuing to seek extra help because I still might have malware on my computer.

Wow. That's all I have to say. gringo_pr (one of the malware removal guys there) was VERY helpful. I REALLY recommend http://bleepingcomputer.com to anyone having malware problems. The MBAM scan I did on my own helped alot, but this guy was extraordinary-- he went above and beyond in locating and removing other malware that was left on my computer.

That is what we do, we look at everything and have a like a female sixth sense of what is not suppose to be there, but we can also use advanced to to do whar we want to do.
