Norton Error and Norton Toolbar

Hello forum! I am new, so I hope I am not breaking any of the rules here. :( I have two problems, but best I explain in detail a bit.

About two days ago my Norton's or the Anti-virus I had literally before that deleted a very much needed file in Windows 7 "TrustedInstaller" and made it so I couldn't update or install any programs. So today I decided to just reinstall my Windows 7, but I wanted to make sure I could reinstall Norton's with my product key even though 3 out of 3 systems were installed. So I contacted support and they helped. Now with my new Windows 7 install, I have sucessfully installed Norton's and gave it my product key -- worked great.

Now when I go into Mozilla FireFox, 8.0 version, I can't seem to get my Toolbar to appear, the Idenity Safe Toolbar. It appears in my Add-ons list, but it says it is incompatible with my Firefox. An image can be seen here:

Lastly, I was told to try updating Norton's so I did that. But, I get this error message:

I tried running "Autofix", but it too failed with this:

I also cannot scan (quick scan) my computer. I get this error:

A Full System Scan gets me error code: 3040, 40008.

I don't know if the error happened because there are no updates, so I thought I should post it now before it became an incurable problem. :)

Thank you all for reading and doubly so for any help that is offered.
