Norton 360 and Power Eraser fails to find and remove the McAfee Protection Renewal Notice / McAfee Secure virus scam, I've only had Norton / Norton 360 on this laptop. Never had ANY McAfee product on it, Still getting numerous popup warnings that I MUST renew McAfee. Apparently the Norton products are incapable of removing this? Must I cancel Norton and subscribe to McAfee to be able to kill this scam? HELP ! I am sorely disappointed in Norton's failure in handling this obvious problem.
think i have norton 360... can't find an "about", but says it is the most recent version with latest updates. Using Windows 10 on Lenovo laptop.
Then I needed to turn off my uBlock Origin setup - to reproduce -
Um, do you have a website where you see McAfee scam?
It's an ad injection attack to which Safari, Edge, and Samsung Internet browser are vulnerable. Suggest switching to Firefox, Brave, or if you must, Chrome.
We will probably be changing ad networks in the not too distant future.
Thanks. But that screen gives my device name, serial number, sku etc, but doesn't name the Norton product (360 I am quite sure), or even say if the version etc relate to my device or to the Norton product!! A little weird.
