Norton Family and Kaspersky Internet Security not cooperating

Hi, I am testing different Internet Security programs, such as Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 and BitDefender, for compatibilty with Norton Family. I am finding that Norton Family/Kaspersky blocks access through Internet Explorer, but not through Chrome. I tried two other machines that do not have Norton Family installed, and there is no problem on those. I am running both Win7 Pro 64-bit and Win7 HP 64-bit versions, and they are relatively recent computers (Core i3 and AMD Phenom x2).

I have not yet tried uninstalling Norton Family on the computer that is having problems. I will try uninstalling/reinstalling Norton Family post-Kaspersky installation and post the results.

I saw at least one other post about compatibility issues, but that was from 2012.

Is this still an issue with Norton Family? If so, are there settings I can change that will let the two programs coexist?

I think better use Norton products : better quality , more trusty company and Better and more speedy support .

purchase & use norton 360 .

Thanks jman4 and amirsafari for the posts.

Please check out the link below where shows the current known 3rd party security programs which have compatibility issue with Norton Family.

Hi KatieQ,

Thanks for the link. I notice that Kaspersky and BitDefender do not have any entries in the article. Does that mean there are no issues, or none that Symantec is aware of?

I like the Norton products, but the others have gotten good reviews also. Plus, Symantec seems to have stopped their retail rebate promotions, which reduce the cost of buying the products for the end users.

Hi jman4,

It's always a good idea to have Norton antivirus program than other products, not just better security product, but always compatible with Norton Family :-)

As to answer your question, that means we haven't heard any reports that these two products are not compatible with Norton Family.

Thanks,

Katie

Hi Katie,

Thanks for your email. I'll keep testing and see what happens, and will post any updated information if I have it.

This problem seems to be limited to one computer out of several, but the other one that's working is running WinXP Pro SP1. The Win7HP computer is not working correctly.

Maybe it's time to just go back to NIS 2014!
