Norton Family and Windows 8.1

Dear Norton Family Team

 

I just upgraded all of my touch computers from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1 around october 17th 2013. I uninstalled Norton Family 2.9.x because I knew that I would get a compatibility issues. Can you please tell me when are you going to make Norton Family Compatible with Windows 8.1? Can you please make Windows 8.1 compatibility patch available?

Hello I am a new user of Norton Family.

I have windows 8.1 on several PC and Norton Family 2.9.5.14 (basic) is installed everywhere.

The problem is that the plugging Norton Family often hangs. It doesn't answer anymore. And I am asked to stop the plugging or continue to wait. I use Google Chrome and don't use IE or another web browser so I can't tell you if the problem exists with the others browsers.

It is very annoying.

Is this problem known ?

Hi EBMOTEL,

Can you please let us know the version of Google Chrome you have on the PC?

Also, is it possible that you could post a screen shot where it shows “…I am asked to stop the plugging or continue to wait”?

Hi,

 

When you are on the "Post Message" page, please click the icon "insert/edit image" as shown below, then you should be able to to post a screen shot.

Hi,

the version is 2.9.5.20

Yesterday Norton Antivirus crashed too. But sorry, i don't remember the error number

I wish I could send you logs but can't find any.

Is it normal that often I see 2 icons of Norton Family ? and 2 icons of Norton Antivirus too  in the systray ? it seems strange to me. And Sometimes, Windows 8.1 (the flag icon of windows) tells me that Norton Antivirus is disabled but i can see its icon in the systray. Next Time it happens I will send you a picture.
