My son has Windows 10 laptop which he's allowed to use 1h/day only between 9am and 8pm. He is not admin on his laptop, I am.
Despite Norton Family he can log in during the day and use it for any amount of time (more than 1 hour) without getting bothered by NF!
What part of the word LIMIT does NF not understand?
Sure there's the little popup in the corner of the screen once in a while warning him that he shouldn't be using it. So what? He's 13 and does not care!
The email alerts NF sends come in the next day: so what use is that? If they get send at all... Sometimes nothing even gets logged on the online dashboard. I checked: I used my son's account myself for 20 minutes over time: not a single email notification and nothing in the dashboard.
He used it for 4 hours last Thursday, 3 more than the limit set in NF, and I received zero notifications. I know how much time he used it because I know how to read the logs in the Windows Event Viewer.
NF is just as hopeless as Windows 10's parental control.
I think I'll just reinstall a copy of Windows 7 because it at least actively kicks you out of your session when time's up: that is what parents expect from a Parental Control system, Symantec!
NF is probably developed by ppl who don't have kids. :(
Get your act together Symantec!
