I have added youtube .com to my child’s restricted websites. But Norton Family still allows the site to be accessed. I get emails saying… “website blocked” so it thinks it’s blocking it but it most definitely is not. I tried testing other sites… I added bing .com and google .com to the restricted websites. I updated the house rules and as desired… those sites were blocked. So… I removed youtube and readded it to the restricted list and it still sends me “blocked” emails but does not actually block the site. Any ideas why and/or how I can fix this?
Note: I purposefully added a space in the url sites in this post because it tells me I’m not allowed to include links in my post.
In Norton Family portal, please choose the respective child and click on Web Supervision settings, In-addition to youtube.com, please add the below URLs using the Exception tab and block them.
“play.google.com”
“googlevideo.com”
Once you have added the above websites to blocked list, please go to the child device and clear browser cache and restart the browser.
On the child device, right click on Norton Family “TrayIcon” and click on “Update House Rules”.
Please try the above steps and retest the youtube URL on the child machine and update us.
