Dear all,
I have recently installed Norton Family on my son's tablet (Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact running Android 5.1.1). My primary goal is to give him some usage time limits, but unfortunately I'm struggling with this feature of the tool which does not seem to be working properly.
I need to say that my son is mostly if not exclusively playing Clash of Clans on his tablets.
So far I have seen two issues:
-A- Time is not accounted correctly. For example my son would start consuming its time allowance for the day and play for let's say 15 minutes, then stop playing and then come back to the game couple of hours later. In that case Norton Family will in most cases deny access and say that the time limit of one hour has been reached although he has only played for 15 minutes so far. It's as if the time counter was continuously running in the background, disregarding the fact that the tablet was in fact not being used (screen off and no user action).
-B- Sometimes (but it seems not always), my son can continue to play and go over his quota. As long as he continues to play he will not be kicked-out of the game, despite the fact that the time allowance is consumed entirely. It's only at the moment when he will change game or try to launch an other application that that Norton Family will notice and deny access. It seems that as long as he stays withing the same app he can play forever disregarding the time limit.
Issue A is very annoying because it means the system is not usable for me in practical terms. It may be because of the way Clash of Clans works. I need to investigate this by asking my son to systematically quit the game instead of just closing the cover of the tablet, why puts it in "sleep" mode instantly.
Appreciate your opinion and help,
Thank you.
