Hi
My son has a Kindle Fire HD 7" [Previous Generation] which we used the amazon family option of freetime for the last year. This option doesnt allow internet access. Now he's 8, he wants to look at science and maths stuff on the internet so i need to let him use the silk browser. I am a normal, panicked mother at the thought of him accessing inappropriate material so i looked at various parentel control apps. I use Norton security on my laptop so i decided the Norton family app was the way to go as it looks amazing. I installed the app, registered the device to him and set the controls as needed to block any inappropriate websites. I then sat back with a cup of tea congratulating myself for a job well done and thought id double check. I accessed google.co.uk and went for the obvious search of "porn". Needless to say i was fairly horrified at all the stuff that came up, and even more so when i discovered i could access any of these sites with no problem. I looged back in to the parental controls that just show google access. Surely this is not supposed to happen??
Does this work with kindle fires? Am I wasting my time? I really need help as i just dont feel safe letting him roam free on the internet.
Any advice would be gratefully received. thanks
