Have been using Norton Safety Minder (now Norton Family Online) for several years for 3 kids. Now only use for 2, as the oldest has "graduated" form that age. Recently, my daughter's laptop had crashed, and the Windows XP had to be completely reinstalled from scratch. Not a repair - a complete install. So everything had to be installed from scratch. Norton Security Suite, then Norton Family Online. It installed successfully - shows the icon in the bottom bar, I can see the device and her accounts online, but NOTHING gets monitored at all. When she logs in, she gets the message in the lower right corner that "Norton Family online is running and monitoring, etc...". But it does not. The time limits are not enforced - I specifically blocked the entire Sunday in her time limits, but she just logs in. Regardless if the time limits for Sunday are blocked off or on, clicking on "View Time remaining" shows that her time is up - but does nothing to log her out. Clicking on "Extend Time" just does nothing at all whatsoever - no window pops up, nothing at all. No alerts show up online either. The same for web monitoring - adult websites do not get blocked at all, and no alerts show up online.

I have exactly the same problem. Safety Mminder 2.6.0.43 seems to install correctly on Windows XP SP2 but a) the icon doesn't appear in the task bar, b) nothing happens at all (nothing is being blocked or monitored) and nevertheless, the windows service appears to be running.
I am now askingm myself if SF 2.6.0.43 has ever worked in any Windows XP SP2 system. I have Norton 360 v6 installed on the same system and it runs fine.
Please Katie Qiu or someone in Symantec, could you please help us? This post is one week old and I haven't seen anyone in Symantec replying or giving us some help.
Should we still wait too long ...? We have a real problem !!!!
Exact same problem here. All three computers appear to be monitoring, but when I go to review the web activity,there is nothing there. Online Family was working well until the upgrade. Now apparently, there is no monitoring, time restrictions etc.

If you haven't already, please update the Norton Family for Windows client to our latest version. We are delivering these updates automatically. The next time the PC, Mac, or Android with Norton Safety Minder is connected to the internet, an update should be delivered to that device and you may be asked to restart after the update is applied. Alternatively, you can manually install the latest version. The Windows and Mac versions are available for download after you've logged into the Norton Family web site. The latest mobile clients are available for download here.

Please check your spam folder. the reset password email would come from "NortonAccount@symantec..com" since it your resetting your Norton Account email address. It looks a lot like this.
