Moved to Norton Family board for better exposure
Hi mwlodarc.
Welcome to the Norton Community Forums.
I can well understand your concerns. Would you mind telling us what browser you are using? I note that the app is supposed to work on Chrome and the Samsung S-Browser. I do not think that Chrome supports incognito so is it the Samsung S-Browser that you are using? Not having a Samsung myself I do not know this browser.
If not, that may be the reason why it is not working and you might want to change to one of the supported browsers.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Hi,
It's Android 4.0's default browser.
But: if we need a reliable parental control software (I would expect Norton to be able to have one), we need to be able to block content based on rules and independent from the browser installed.
There are plenty of optional browsers and it would be a big issue if any application can bypass Norton software.
Moreover, I can see that I am not the only person reporting this issue, there are open threads and they are not resolved neither:
Best regards,
Marcin Wlodarczyk

And there I think may lie your answer mwlodarc...
There has evidently been active discussion in the Norton Family forum in which Norton staff member KatieQ is very active. So I suggest it is best that you take up the issue there. I would suggest moving this thread but it may be best to leave it here so that others with a similar problem can get direction.
Sorry I was not aware of this issue but I am inclined to focus on mobile forums and do not follow the Norton Family forum.
It also appears that I made an error when saying that I was not aware of an incognito mode in Chrome. For some reason I had checked the old Android default browser by mistake. :-(
I hope it will be possible to meet your concerns in the not too distant future. Good luck.
Yes, but the funny thing is that I cannot post anything in the other thread - how can I report my case there?
Now that is an interesting question mwlodarc .....
I assume that you can read the posts in that forum.. Can you confirm or deny this?
I also assume that when you say you had failed to post that you had been logged into the site... Can you confirm or deny this?
Then can you please explain at what point your attempted post in the Norton Family forum fails, making it clear if your attempts were to post a new thread and/or to respond to an existing thread.
I look forward to your reply.
Hi,
I am the program manager for Identity Safe Mobile, but I used to work on Norton Family as well. I know from past experience and also a recent program review that I attended that they are actively looking into this issue and it is on their top priority list so no need to post another message. I will also let the Product Manager know as she is a friend/co-worker of mine.
Keep in mind it is complicated for discussions like this to occur openly because there are children that will review these posts and create You Tube video work arounds for other kids.
Thank you,
Rhonda Leopold
Symantec Program Manager- Identity Safe Mobile Edition
Exactly, I have two kids: 5 and 7. The older will find the workaround sooner or later. He is still young, so he doesn't understand neither he searches for wrong content on purpose, but ... I would feel more comfortable when this issue is fixed.
I can read it - that is ow I found a similar thread ;-)
And, yes, I am logged in, I can start post messages, but this particular thread I can only read.
Hi Rhonda,
Thanks for your message. I reported the issue to Symantec directly (I gave my case id in my first message), but I was asked to go to community.norton.com and publish the story here, so it will be reviewed and resolved.
Best regards,
Marcin

I think the issue is that those threads are old and so you cannot add anything to them (the Mods lock old threads after a period of non use). However I think that if you want to you can reply to newer threads and create new topics as you have done here.
I hope that helps.
Has any progress been made with this issue?
Hi PastorChuck,
The Norton Family team is currently working on the feature that will monitor activities in in the incognito mode.
Thanks,
Katie
