Norton File Scan Won't Run, then won't run full scan, have to restart computer?

This happens often. I dowload a file, open the folder to scan it, right click and the icon circles. I have to x out of the folder. Then I click Norton internet security and try scanning either the file or the whole computer, and it doesn't do anything. I have to restart the computer. Tried the repair tool, and nothing there either, till I restart the computer. It gets frustrating to have to restart the computer to run the program?

Any help or thoughts? I have searched and really can't find a partiuclar solution. I have Norton Internet Security 2014, which was downloaded and and installed. Thanks Bruce

Maybe trying to reinstall NIS by using the NRnR tool?

It looks like the Norton product is not working as expected so it might worth trying a clean installation.

What is the version numberof your Norton product.? Also what is your operating system and sevice pack?. Click on Support or Help and down to About
