I rent house with six of my friends around our school and we rent 2Mbps WAN (full download speed is 256KB/S)from the ISP.Then we use a router to share the internet connection.
Recently,My speed of download was been limited by one of my friends.I konw who he is,But I don't want to say anything.
He limited my speed with a software in his computer,and control my speed without a client.
When he do the thing,the Network Security Map will show the router (D LINK 192.168.0.1) as a PC.
You can see the PC that I set restricted is the limiter possblely.
At last night ,if I set it restricted or set the router restricted,I would never open a webpage until I disable the firewall or set them full trusted or uninstall the Norton.
In today's moring,when I downloaded and installed the Norton 360 again,I find there is no limited.Maybe the friend who limited is still in sleep.So the Network Security Map didn't include the Dlink router.
But at afternoon,my download speed was limited to 12KB/S(The full speed is 256KB) and the Dlink router appeared in the window again.
I have asked many engineer of Norton what is the reason.They said nothing.But one of them did the following thing:
He added a firewall rule to let all connections come in and go out freely, which makes me think that he made the firewall no use.
Since I purchased the software,4days have passed.
Now I deleted the rule,and set all the PC restricted ,I can surf the net with the real high speed 200KB/S,maybe the hacker is doing other things.
I feel a little tired.I don't know when he limited me and use what kind of methods.
Who can explain this mass.
I has done what I can,but nothing changed.I don't want been controlled.I feel to bad.
Please tell me a way to set the firewall to block the limit software of my friend .
