Norton "FIX IN PROGRESS>>>>"

Constant "FIX IN PROGRESS" being displayed...never finishes..2 days this way....

I had no custom settings and nothing really set for b/ups.

Tier2 support should have suggested that IMHO BUT you solved the issue Peter and again thanks!

It is possible that they are hesitant to suggest that because it removes all your settings, including any custom firewall settings and your backup settings. You have to start over again after the reinstall to create new custom firewall rules (if you had done so before). You also have to start over with your backup. You need to create your backup set again, and you have to go into your Norton Account to remove the older backup set in your cloud storage to regain the storage space. It can be a hassle, and if the regular remove and reinstall works it saves a lot of time.

 

 

NO they did not Peter!!! And I went to Tier2 Support on all ocassions. They never did this.

When you were reinstalling with the support agents, did they have you use the Advanced Options > Remove only option? That makes a difference if some old data is sitting on your system.

 

That is what is so weird about this Peter! Norton Support had me do almost the same thing but it did't work!!! Did it 2-3 times..Only yours worked.

Well it is fixed and I thank you and I thank the Moderator for handling my "ID" problem.

It is a shame that Norton Tier 2 Support couldn't fix it days ago.

It is too late for you to be able to change the image. You are only allowed to edit a post for 1 hour. I have asked for an admin to fix this for you.

Have you run LiveUpdate manually a few times, restarting as necessary, until no updates are available?

Try opening your Norton and clicking on Help > Get Support. See if that can help clear your issue.

Next step would be to reinstall your product using the Norton Removal and Reinstall tool from   www.norton.com/nrnr  Use the Advanced Options > Remove Only, and then restart your system. Next, log into your Norton Account and click on Download to get a fresh install of your Norton product

 

How do I change the image?

I have done everything NortonChat has ask of me. Yes I restarted my system numerous times! I can't even stop the "Fix". I have about 5 tickets in but I cannot wait 3-8 hours for a "Chat". When the "Chat" tech cant fix it they "End Chat"! I am using Windows 10. Worked fine until last Live Update!

Please edit your image to remove your email address at the top of the Norton window.

As for your issue, have you restarted your system? Not shutdown and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled.  If you use Windows 8/8.1 or 10, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here.
