Norton Gadget (Sidebar) Lost, Then Found, But Doesn't Show System Info

I am running Windows 7 64-bit. If you need additional specs, just ask.

This week I suffered the loss of my NIS gadget that seems to plague so many after I upgraded my video cards and monitor. In searching through the forums on this site, I found two solutions which I was able to perform, but which did not fully fix the problem.

First I tried the solution listed in Message 5 from this thread (http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/windows-sidebar-gadget-missing-and-no-solutions-seem-to-work/td-p/352916), which returned the gadget to the gadget-launch section (of the control-panel accessible by right-clicking on the desktop), but launching the gadget did not restore its full functionality.

Currently, it looks like this:

As you can see, it does not display any information about the current status of NIS on my system, and no amount of right-clicking on the gadget or restarting the gadget has resolved this. It's nice to have the gadget back, but without displaying data of any relevance it is obviously completely useless.

I then followed the steps in Message 21 from this thread (http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Sidebar-Gadget-Missing-NIS-2010-amp-Windows-7-64-bit/td-p/200972/page/3), but that didn't solve this problem either and the gadget remains blank with the exception of the Norton Logo as above.

Does anyone have any advice?
