Norton Ghost 10.0 and making a computer copy

Every now and again my laptop starts to get slower and slower and the best solution I have found is to bite the bullet and reload everything from the original recovery disk.  This means that MS Windows is reinstalled and then I have to go through all the updates (last time about 100 needed applying) and then all my extra software and finally folders/files and favourites.  Big job, but the laptop then runs like new again.

My question is can I use Norton Ghost to make something identical to my original recovery disk but a newer version i.e.. just after my last rebuild.  That way when it slows down again I will only have to recover from that point in time and not several years ago.

I think the answer might be to use the 'Recovery my computer wizard' in Norton Ghost, but will that actually recover (and therefore replace) everything on my hard drive as I think that is what the above process does and does successfully.
