Norton Ghost 10 Activation fails on my newer machine

Ok, I installed my Norton Ghost 10 on my newer - Quad Core machine

The activation error comes up: you have exceeded the # of installs...

I called Norton/Symmantec: and the support person gave me this almost exact speil I saw on the Forum today:

except he also told me it expired in June of this year.   Only about 3 months ago.

I am sorry this particular program is not supported anymore and we do not have any information regarding license. Can you provide me the key? I will try to find details if possible.

...

I am not able to get details regarding the key.

...

The problem is the Norton Ghost 10 is very old and the licensing has changed, that could be the reason I am not able to access with the key details.

...

You can try to check with Forum support, because they are the one who deals with old versions of Norton programs, probably they can help you with this

Well - Here I am too.   Tell me how I can Activate my 'Legal' copy of Norton Ghost for my PC.    I have heard that your

newer versions don't require an Activation (which is worse than silly)...  But I paid $70 for my copy and I need it

for my Windows XP computer.
