I use Northon Ghost 12.0 have two hard drives. Recently my primary hard drive crashed (bummer), but luckily, I had been running a back up of my documents (one backup folder) and my pictures (another backup folder) on a weekly basis to a partition on my older harddrive. However, it may be helpful to note that I made an identical backup on my primary hard drive on its own partition. I have recently put WinXP (32bit) on a new hard drive I purchased and wanted to recover my documents and pictures.
However, for whatever reason, it does not see that I have an old restore point on my oldest hard drive, won't explore the file structure, or anything of the like (that is, when I go to Recover My Files->Redovery Point->Explore, as it says no recovery point has been selected and it shows no recovery point). I have done the "Import Backup Destination" and it says it has completed the process. The only way I can access any of the old files is to type in a file name. But with over 20,000 pics (I'm a photographer on the side), there's no way on earth I will be able to remember all the files, let alone the detailed organization of the folders I tediously kept up with. I did notice in the hidden folder "VProRecovery" that it says that the Recovery Point Storage Location is located at "S:\Pictures Backup=." and "S:\My Documents Backup=.", which I believe were the drive letters I had assigned to that partition. I changed my drive letter to S:\ but it did nothing different.
I have tried this both in the Windows environment and in the boot up disc mode.
Help! Any ideas? I apologize for the length but wanted to make sure I gave enough of the necessary details.
