Norton Ghost 14.0 - files not backed up after upgrading to Vista Sp1

Beware – Norton Ghost 14.0 running Vista SP1 does not give you a full usable partition backup you can restore from. After applying SP1 to Vista Ultimate (32bit) the files in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore and C:\Windows\security are not backed up to the image when doing a full partition backup. When you do a full restore you will be missing all Windows update history with no way of getting it back. Also after the restore you will have to reinstall Norton Internet Security since it will not be functional. I have verified (with old backup images) that prior to the SP1 update the files were backed up and I had done many full partition restores with absolutely no problems. The system always worked correctly after the restore. I have been in multiple chat sessions since late November or early December where the analysts have done multiple tests all proving the files are not being put in the image, they have taken traces, collected log files etc. After each chat session I was told there was a real issue and the information would be sent to research and I would be getting a phone call from research. Early January I got fed up with at least 5 chat sessions all promising to call me back so I finally got a Priority ID# from customer service. The Customer Care analyst said a ticket was never entered. The “proper ticket” was created and the analyst re-downloaded all the log files the chat analyst had taken. I was told again that I would be receiving a call from research regarding this real proven issue. Since the initial creation of the ticket generated from the Priority ID call, I have called back (6) times (once per week) stating I had never received the promised phone call and asking where the issue stands with research. Each time I was promised a phone call. Well I just called again and was told that my case had been closed. I was never called, emailed – nothing. I still do not get all the files backed up on my partition image, so I will not get a full working restore.
