Hi,
I have a bit of a bad time trying to recover / mount and then recover my old Ghost 14.0 image from my harddrive.
Now, I can browse for files using the recovery point browser, yet because the folder that I want to recover contains efs encrypted files I cannot recover just that folder, and must recover / mount the whole image.
The setup:
I am using Windows 7. the image was probably made on Vista, if that's a problem.
The problem:
When I try to mount the image (tried Norton ghost 14/15 and symantec recover point browser all with same response) I get one of the following responses from the OS:
1. Incorrect parameter
2. The drive must be formated, and then I see an empty drive.
Trying to recover the whole image to a whole drive fails with "CRC error or unsupported format" message.
Yet, this happens after successfully verifying that the image is indeed ok (done by the recover point browser itself..)
So,
1. I cannot recover my encrypted efs folder from the image (although other unencrypted files I can)
2. Cannot recover to a whole drive
3. Cannot mount the image (tried also to use the Ghost boot disk without success..)
Any clues on what else can do the trik??
