Norton Ghost 14 .. cloned version won't recognize ALL the space on new hard drive

Dell Inspiron MX16??? (80G HD)

Windows XP OS

Norton Ghost 14

Western Digital HD 320G new

Used Ghost 14 and created recovery points (OS, software, files, settings, EVERYTHING); did it 3 times to an external HD (they are still there); replaced 80G HD with new and empty 320G Western Digital HD and was able to 'recover' everything; Windows XP booted ok after several tries (still not sure how that happened); files, software, etc seem fine (haven't seen what happens when there are new updates; but when I observe how much space is on the C drive it still says 80G;

tried to go to My Computer>Properties>Manage to look at the partitions and it only showed 80G allocated and 4G unallocated (which I am afraid to format); WHERE IS THE OTHER 240G????  Why isn't the entire HD recognized??

fyi...when i was in Ghost looking at the recover settings, the option to resize new drive was disabled for some reason, but even if it was i wouldn't know what number to enter (drives labled as 80G on the box seem to report having slightly less when you look at their actually properties .. why?)  Was I suppose to change the number there? The default number was the size of the old drive 80G.

I did put a click on Restore MBR, Boot from active OS, etc ... but still not sure why after the recovery process the drive still says 80G.

I then took it to a repair shop and initially they said the new HD was faulty, so they tried replaced it with their own new HD (Seagate) and ended up with the same result .. still can't see all of the HD;  now they said it's a Ghost problem and are currenty contacting Norton for technical support; a computer programmer friend of mine said I should call Dell Support because it's a Dell system problem; she said Dell has to "unlock" the system somehow to allow the computer to recognize the new HD .. so many theories, but not sure which way to go.

Please help???????
