Yes, so far very painful. I can't find a "restore all" option anywhere in the software.

I didn't set a restore point for the .fbf files. I used the defaults for the backup and I guess by default it doesnt set a restore point? Do you know if System Works would be able to read the Norton .fbf files without a restore point?

A couple more sessions with support and I have a slow but sure way to get my data back. I can only load 5gb of data at a time and after each set of data I have to manually delete C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\FileBackup\Catalog.dat .

If anyone knows a faster way please post. I'll be sitting here for a few days trying to recover 400gb of files.

I have a serious problem. I have 400 gb of data backed up to .fbf files that I need to restore. When I load them with "Recover My Files/Import Backup Destination" and hit the Search button to show all files I get this error:

"Your search criteria returned more files than can be displayed. Narrow your search to find fewer files"

I need ALL files to be restored from the .fbf files so viewing the files and paths is not really necessary for me. The problem is I don't know how to extract all data from the .fbf files without viewing them first. I don't know exact file info for the archived data so typing in exact  filenames and paths is not an option for me.

Norton online tech support was no help to me and their solution was to not backup to .fbf files in the future. That is not an answer I want to hear as about 7 years of my data is currently being held captive by the .fbf file format. Please help me!

Ouch. Is there no "restore all" option?

I don't have ghost, rather I have  save & restore from system works, which uses .fbf format. It has an option to  "recover my computer" and "recover my files" the first one brings up a list of my restore points, and I just restore all files from that.
