Norton Ghost 14 taking forever to create recovery point

I recently upgraded from Ghost 12 to 14 and had an issue with the backup files on my external drive.  I decided to remove everything and start from scratch with a new backup job.  That was over 24 hours ago and I am still only at 75% complete.  So what gives?  I remember when I first loaded the old Ghost 12 it took maybe an hour or so to complete back up.  We’re not talking about a huge drive here either, it’s maybe 115 GB’s.  Any suggestions on what to do or look for and why this is taking so long.   My concern is that it’s going to do this everytime it runs a back up job.  If that’s the case maybe I should go back to Ghost 12.  Thanks.
