Norton Ghost 15 and Realtek Network Card

Hello,

Maybe someone knows a workaround for this , I want to recover my HP laptop from a ghost image that I have on a NAS, I have Norton ghost recovery CD I've loaded the network drivers also the network services started also but when I run the IP config utility it says that no network adapters are found. Netowrk Adapter is Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.

Hi,

Try pinging the NAS and also make sure the network adaptor IP addresses match that of the NAS, if they don't match then you won't be able to ping it.

You could also try opening the "Network Card Speed" to see if the adaptor is listed.

When you say you loaded the driver, do you have the correct driver or did you just load the drivers included on the recovery disk?

If you don't have the right driver, I think this is what you want.

http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/1701i/Install_Vista_6227_11202009.zip

Download that zip file and extract it into a folder.

What you want is the WinVista\32  folder.

Take that "32" folder and put it somewhere you can access it with the recovery disk.

Then boot to the recovery disk and go to: Utilities > Load Driver.

Browse to the location of the 32 folder and load that driver.

If it works, you can later make a custom recovery disk and include it.

If that driver does not work for any reason, go to the HP website and look for a 32bit Vista driver for your system.

Hello,

Many thanks for the solution i was loading the Windows 7 32 bit driver and that caused the issue , then i figure it out that the SRD is actualy WinPE 2.1 Vista based so i loaded the Vista 32 drivers and it worked! Norton Ghost saved my life again:)

Glad it worked.  Yes the Ghost disk is based on 32bit VistaSP1, I should have mentioned that.

Now that you know what driver works you can make a custom disk and have it automatically load.
